History

The New York Pancyprian Freedoms, founded in 1974, are one of New York City's most storied soccer clubs, known for their rich history and significant contributions to American soccer. Established by the Greek-Cypriot community in Astoria, Queens, the club quickly rose to prominence, capturing three US Open Cup titles in 1980, 1982, and 1983 and the National Amateur Cup in 2024. This achievement places them among an elite group of American soccer teams. Over the decades, the Pancyprian Freedoms have consistently excelled in national competitions, adding multiple National Amateur Open Cups to their trophy cabinet in 2008, 2010, and 2011. Celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2024, the club continues to embody a legacy of excellence, community spirit, and a deep-rooted passion for the sport.
