EPSC Hosts Inaugural Memorial Day Freedom Cup

On Saturday, May 24th, Eleftheria Pancyprian Soccer Club proudly hosted its first annual EPSC Memorial Day Freedom Cup—a community-driven mini tournament that brought together young players, families, and clubs from across New York City and Long Island for a day filled with competition, sportsmanship, and celebration.

Held at St. Michael’s Field in Woodside, Queens, the tournament featured three age groups: 2016, 2014, and 2013, with games played in 7v7 and 9v9 formats on two beautiful turf fields. Designed as a fun, end-of-season event, the Freedom Cup provided players with a chance to compete against new opponents in a positive and energetic atmosphere.

The participating clubs included Eleftheria Pancyprian Soccer Club (EPSC), Hempstead Soccer Club, Sunset United, Veras Soccer Academy, Community SC Revolution, and Chelsea Piers—a diverse and talented group that made for exciting matchups throughout the day.

“This tournament was about more than just soccer—it was about building community and creating meaningful experiences for our youngest players,” said Billy Antoniou, Executive Director of EPSC. “We’re proud to host events like this that bring the soccer world closer together while giving our kids a stage to grow and have fun. We look forward to making this an annual tradition.”
