Eleftheria SC Crowned LISFL Division 1 Champions After Thrilling 3-1 Victory Over Asteras FC
Eleftheria SC capped off a determined and resilient season with a 3-1 victory over Asteras FC in the LISFL Division 1 Championship Final, clinching the title and promotion in a high-stakes match that showcased the team’s grit, patience, and precision.
After going down 1-0 in the 17th minute, Eleftheria remained composed and methodical, eventually breaking through in the 73rd minute when Lorenzo La Rosa capitalized on a defensive error by Asteras to equalize. Just five minutes later, Andrew Decanio delivered a decisive finish to put Eleftheria ahead. The match was sealed in stoppage time when Sean Arus calmly converted a penalty in the 93rd minute, securing the championship and a hard-fought promotion.
This victory was the final chapter in a season defined by resilience. Eleftheria SC finished second in the LISFL Division 1 table for the 2024–2025 season, with a record of 7 wins, 5 draws, and 4 losses. Their path to the final wasn’t easy—they faced Bakhtar United in the playoff round, battling to a 3-3 draw before emerging victorious 4-3 in a dramatic penalty shootout.
